I believe I met my goals for the semester. I was able to expand on my photoshop skills, which at the beginning of the year was a skill I wasn't comfortable in. Sadly Covid-19 made our year shorter but I would have loved to be able to get more time in the dark room, but that was out of my hands. I also met my goal because I was able to expand and grow as a photographer which is always what I would like to do. Overall I think I became a better, well rounded, photographer throughout the year.
After completing my fourth year of photography I can see many changes in my work. This year I think I excelled most in the editing of my pictures. I took more time to edit my biweekly's and I was able to use multiple editing platforms and I took time to really dive deep into my pictures.
I have also been more explorative with my angles when actually shooting the picture. I have really enjoyed shooting from below which is something I didn't necessarily do before. All I really did was point and shoot at eye level. Now I find myself climbing trees, and laying on the ground to get the perfect angle which is a step I have never taken before.
This pandemic allowed me to literally take a breath. I was able to take a step back and let myself rest in a time that was very difficult for me. I think this allowed me to explore photography more and I think the change is really seen in my Biweekly "a walk in the park during the apocalypse". I just believe that biweekly shows depth in the pictures, and shows how I thought through editing them and shooting them.
I think our video assignment had a really big impact on my learning. It was where I explicitly decided not to graduate early which was a very big deal. I also was not that comfortable with video, and video editing so it was really out of my comfort zone but I believe it turned out really well.
