Reflecting on my goals for the semester - one thing that I thought when going into the semester was that I would have not to do any realistic drawings of humans. but even still I learned a lot about art as a whole from that. a very important concept to learn was that I could show depth throughout an object by using one color to show shadows. Another large lesson I learned what that I need to step back from my work and look at it from far away as I worked on it. there is a lot to be seen from far away and unfortunately, I learned this late into my class time.
The assignment that I am most proud of - The assignment that I am most proud of is the realistic self-portrait (left). one reason is that I have always struggled with making realistic drawings of humans. whether that be their face or body I never could get the proportions right. although with this piece I really felt like I was drawing myself. This piece has made me more hopeful for my artistic future because I never really wanted to do any humans in art but I very much enjoyed the process.
I draw and paint because I love to create and the one part of the world that I gave admired the most is the landscape, of the water, trees, mountains, and the sky. All O want to do with my art is to give back some of the beauty back to the world
I hope that as I progress through the class I can get better at making my water more liquid and getting perspective corrects to larger things look larger and not further away
