Purpose:
To demonstrate understanding of accurate perspective of cylinders and cubes;
To use a variety of mark-making strategies to practice and demonstrate the value changes on forms, helping them appear 3D
To practice using a variety of media to draw a still life
Artists Studied: Henry Moore, Vincent van Gogh, Giorgio Morandi
I am good with working square lines and objects and I think that I will be set for rectangular objects, one other thing I have been good at is making shadows using mark-making to show the depth of the objects. I also think that I will like to use a pencil for my work because I would like to be able to redesign the work if I mess up. I would also like to use cross-hatching because that was the one that I felt most comfortable with
I think that when the time comes it will be imperative to draw in a way that will be very complimentary to show rounded objects because when I need to draw rounded objects, the other thing that I will need to work on is the texture of certain objects because it was challenging to make a tin can texture with drawing and the type of drawing I was doing
I will be using the cross-hatching technique because it was the most successful in the drawing and the best when I try to use shadows, the way that I can make the shadows lighter and more controlled because I'm not as chaotic when I do scribbles. the cross-hatching will also help me with texture because i can organize the lies better than the thicker lines of the ink
