Purpose:
To demonstrate understanding of accurate perspective of cylinders and cubes;
To use a variety of mark-making strategies to practice and demonstrate the value changes on forms, helping them appear 3D
To practice using a variety of media to draw a still life
Artists Studied: Henry Moore, Vincent van Gogh, Giorgio Morandi
REFLECTION:
I think I am doing a good job with angles and the placement of my lines. My drawings seemed accurate to what the still life looked in my view and I think that is going well. In my opinion those seemed like my strongest points and I'm happy with how I was doing those.
I think my sizing and value could improve. When I start my drawing I make them too small so it becomes harder to add in the little details that make a big difference, and my value could improve because I feel I need to work on emphasizing the darker and lighter spots to make a more accurate imitation of the still life’s.
I think I want to use either controlled scribbles or cross hatching with pen because those seemed to be the types of drawings I had the most success with compared to the other kind, especially the ink. I also think using cross hatching or scribbles would make it easier for me to fix mistakes I make along the way during the process of making my final.
