When I’m working with my film camera it is a completely different experience shooting. Because when I have my digital camera I am looking for color, I have seen myself shooting with a film camera and still looking for color. I feel drawn to it when I’m photographing. But with the film you have to find the contrast with black and white. And you have to know how to use the settings or your photos will not turn out the way you want them too. The image that surprised me the most was the photo I developed of the stair case/door to treasure island toys in Freeport. When I was walking around Freeport I didn’t believe that, that photo would be one of my favorite ones that I took but it surprised me. And when I did a big print of it I loved it even more. I loved the detail of the bricks on the wall. To add to that I also loved that you can see the snow that is frozen on the stairs. The photo of the bike came out closest to my original vision. I wanted to capture the tires in the snow cause I thought it made the sculpture pop. When I printed the photo it had the most perfect contrast between the white building behind it and the black outline of the metal bike. Bracketing specifically made it successful because my first two shots of the bike did not have the right lighting but my third shot did. And I am very glad that I bracketed my shots to get the perfect lighting.
