My name is MacKenzie Lentz,
I am currently a senior at Yarmouth High School. In my free time, I am a leader of a club called Best Buddies, I play volleyball, and I create photography. I photograph because I love showing the emotions of people and telling their stories throughout my work.
I first discovered photography through my Mother, who is in the film industry and would bring me behind the scenes on shoots. And for one Christmas, she surprised me with my first DSLR, and she pushed me to continue pursuing photography. If it wasn't for her, I don't think I would've found this passion of mine.
I like to shoot outside best; natural light is my favorite. I like to shoot portrait photography the most. I think color photography is my favorite, but over this past year, I have definitely used black and white photography a lot, and I think I will use it in work in the future.
I have had the chance to shadow a bunch of different photographers. I went behind the scenes on a on site shoot for the LL. Bean catalogue shoot with the photographer Liz Saucier. I also met with the professor of photography at USM, Rose Marasco. I toured her exhbit and she gave me tips for the future as a growing photographer. I was also able to shadow Erin Quirk on a senior photo shoot, and found that that was my calling.
