Purpose:
To photograph different styles of architecture;
To look at and notice a variety of building styles and characteristics;
To continue to practice the compositional strategies that you have learned.
Beneath the Bridge
At first I was photographing the bridge but I wanted to try a perspective focusing on the legs of the bridge. It worked perfectly with the water, docks and boats, and the bridge all included in the photograph. It blends the ocean and land together.
House on the River
This building was across the Royal River from the bridge above. Firs the wooden shingles caught my eye. When I took a closer I liked the large stone drain underneath the house. I liked how the wood and rotting away from the entrance and the contrast between the dark wood and the light stone, as well as the river and the trees.
Garden Gate
I was driving in my neighborhood and I saw this interesting gate. The circular shape and material of the gate really caught my eye. The abnormal shape shows a lot of emphasis. I liked the vibrant grass and flowers in the foreground too.
