Abstract

Resum

In this project, I have delved into the history of Radio Liberty in Pals (Girona); I have explored its historical context, its origins, its activity, the dismantling, and the future of its currently abandoned facilities. I have analyzed the propagandistic role of the media throughout history and its influence on public opinion. I have interviewed former employees, created an informational website that also highlights other American sites in the Empordà, and made a comparative analysis with images of the installations before and after. I realized that, without going far, we can find a trace of our local past that was part of world history. Restoring the site could become an educational tool for future generations.

En aquest treball m’he endinsat en la història de Radio Liberty de Pals (Girona); he aprofundit sobre el seu context històric, els seus orígens, la seva activitat, el desmantellament i el futur de les seves instal·lacions actualment abandonades. He analitzat la funció propagandística dels mitjans de comunicació al llarg de la història i la seva influència en l'opinió pública. He entrevistat a extreballadors, he creat una web divulgativa que també dona a conèixer altres enclavaments americans a l’Empordà i he fet una comparativa amb imatges de l'abans i el després de les instal·lacions. M’he adonat que sense anar molt lluny podem trobar una empremta del nostre passat local que va formar part de la història mundial. Recuperar l’espai podria convertir-se en una eina didàctica per a les futures generacions.
