Abstract

Resum

This research project is divided in two sections: one theoretical and one practical, and has the purpose of showing the historical and current situation of the Catalan language.

In the theoretical part, I dive into the Middle Ages to analyse how this language derived from Latin appeared. Like other Romance languages, this one is well accepted by the speakers. However, Catalan became a repressed language in the Modern Age and in this text, I explain how it has suffered from then to today. In this section, sociolinguistic terminologies have also been introduced.

In the practical part, I have conducted interviews with Albert Rossich, Til Stegmann and Ferran Casadevall. I have also organized a debate between three young people to observe the three different points of view, and I also did a promotional video.

With this work I want to explain what happened, what is happening, and what could happen with the Catalan language.

El present treball, separat per dos apartats, un de teòric i un altre de pràctic, està destinat a exposar l’estat actual i històric de la llengua catalana.

D’una banda, a la part teòrica, m’endinso fins a l’època de l’Edat Mitjana per analitzar com apareix aquesta llengua derivada del llatí i s’utilitza amb normalitat, com les altres llengües romàniques. Tanmateix, a partir de l’Edat Moderna el català comença a patir repressió i fins aleshores, veurem com ha anat patint-ne fins avui dia.

En aquest apartat també s’han analitzat termes de sociolingüística.

D’altra banda, he realitzat tres entrevistes a Albert Rossich, Til Stegmann i Ferran Casadevall. També he fet un debat entre tres joves per observar quins tres punts de vista hi ha davant d’aquest tema i he realitzat un vídeo promocional.

El meu treball es basa a contestar què va passar, què està passant, i què pot passar, amb la llengua catalana.
