Resum

The endocrine system is a set of organs and tissues that produce hormones, which are crucial for the proper functioning of human cells. This system regulates many vital functions and any disruption in this system can have serious consequences.

In recent years, anomalies have been detected in the endocrine system of different individuals, and it has been discovered that there are substances capable of activating hormone receptors even though they are not natural hormones produced by the body, known as endocrine disruptors.

In this work these molecules have been investigated, including their biochemical properties, health effects and sources of exposure. Several ways have been proposed to avoid repeated contact with these substances, although, unfortunately, nowadays 0 contact is impossible. The main objective of the research is to promote information, raise public awareness and encourage the scientific community to continue studying endocrine disruptors.

El sistema endocrí és un conjunt d'òrgans i teixits que produeixen hormones, les quals són crucials pel bon funcionament de les cèl·lules del cos humà. Aquest sistema regula moltes funcions vitals i qualsevol interrupció en aquest pot tenir greus conseqüències.

En els darrers anys s'han detectat anomalies en el sistema endocrí de diferents individus, i s’ha descobert que hi ha substàncies capaces d'activar receptors hormonals encara que no siguin hormones naturals produïdes pel cos, conegudes com disruptors endocrins.

En aquest treball s’han investigat aquestes molècules, incloent les seves propietats bioquímiques, els efectes que tenen sobre la salut i les fonts d'exposició. S’han proposat diverses maneres d’evitar entrar en contacte de reiteradament amb aquestes substàncies, encara que, malauradament, avui en dia el contacte 0 és impossible. L’objectiu principal del treball és promoure la informació, concienciar a la població i animar a la comunitat científica a seguir estudiant els disruptors endocrins.
