airBlock

Airblock is a modular robot that can have three different forms: ship, hovercraft or drone.

FIND ME!

This activity consists in programming the airBlock to look for the three parts of a story.

Age: 10-12 years old.

Key Competences: C1, C3, C7, C9

Description: This activity can be done using any of the three forms of the Airblock, creating a means of transport to be able to pick up three parts of the same story.

Sessions:

  • SESSION 1

We create the collaborative groups and invent a story with the Toontastic app.

  • SESSION 2
    • We edit the Toontastic story so that it is divided into the three main parts: Beginning, Middle, Ending.
    • These three parts are stored in their Google Drive folder and we share them with a link so that anyone who has the link can have access to it.
    • With the link we create a QR code, we can use this website, for example.
    • Once we have the coding done, we can use the following template to paste them in the middle or make the students create another one using any software, for example what we have used: Canva; When we have it, we will print the documents.
  • SESSION 3

We create a means of transport with the Airblock and, in the event that it is a dron, we will add a cord with a magnet, and also add magnets (or magnet paint) to the cards with the QR codes.

    • We will code the Airblock with the Makeblock application so that you can pick up the three cards.

DESIGN YOUR OWN STORY!

This activity is a variant of the previous activity "Find Me!" which consists in coding the airBlock to choose one of the parts of the stories created previously and write a new story from the one watched.

  • SESSION 4

With the Airblock, we will look for a card with a part of the story. We will view it and, with the help of a tablet or a computer, we will create the complete story. We can use collaborative text editing tools such as Google Docs.
