Learning Logs
This is just a friendly reminder to all HSC families that have NOT turned in Learning Logs. The deadline is this Friday, June 12, 2020. To get credit hours for attending during online learning, please email a picture of your Learning Logs to learninglog@wwahomeschool.org. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me before the Learning Log deadline at learninglog@wwahomeschool.org. End of Year Survey
We appreciate our parent's feedback. As we grow and improve as a program we want to hear from you on what you liked, didn't like, and your thoughts for next year. Please take a few minutes and fill out our End-of-Year Survey. This survey includes questions on communication, HSC events, and remote learning moving into the Fall semester. If you'd like to voice your opinion now is the time to do so!

Registration
Registration is coming Summer 2020! Keep an eye out for an email in late July!
Registration is DIFFERENT from enrollment. If you've selected classes for next year, you are already enrolled (yay!). Registration includes completing the Registration Form, Medical Form, fees, and schedules. Registration will go out in late July and will also include information about our Back to School Event.

Yearly Calendar & Daily Schedules
Our Yearly Calendar is now available to view! We recommend printing out a copy so you can stay up-to-date on our all HSC events and scheduled No School Days.
Daily Schedules are now available as well! Please note we changed our drop-off & dismissal times this year for some of our locations.

Testing & Evaluations
HSC Families,
We've had a lot of inquiry regarding testing and evaluations. We've heard things on both ends of the spectrum but have not received a definitive answer from the district. This is what it states on the Department of Education Home School website regarding COVID-19:
The requirement that children in home-based education be evaluated in grades 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 (22-33-104.5(3)(f), C.R.S.) was not addressed by the Governor's Executive Order, which was very specific to the state's obligation to administer assessments under 22-7-1006.3. If parents or adult relatives running a nonpublic home-based education program can meet the requirements of 22-33-104.5(3)(f) without violating state or local health orders related to public gatherings, they should.

If you are part of an umbrella school, student testing for the year may have been waived. Please check with your school for more details.

HSC has a FREE tumble book library subscription until the end of August. CLICK HERE to go to the auto-login page and begin exploring thousands of free books.
HSC Facebook Group
While we are all cooped up inside during this time it's important that we stay in touch with one another. Joining the HSC Facebook Group is one of the many ways that helps our community stayed connected, and is also a great way to find alternative resources for your at home learning.
Here is the link and step by step instructions on how to join our group:
1) Visit our Homeschool Connection Group via Facebook (you must have a Facebook account in order to join)
2) Select + Join Group, located below the cover photo.
3) You'll be prompted to answer a question about which day/location your student attends. Please be sure to answer this question as it helps us keep our community private.

Hello Homeschool Connection Parents,
Here is a reminder that you can still order Scholastic books and now that we are all stuck inside, they can be delivered right to your own front door! You no longer have to wait for 'your HSC day' to arrive to get your books. You can order at any time! Orders over $25.00 get free shipping right to your home. Each week there is a different $1.00 book available, so be sure to check that out. There are many book, craft, and activity ideas you can look through on the site as well as homeschooling resources.

May Highlights
We were very sad that we were unable to hold our normal Open House event this year. Our students work hard all year long to present their work to their family and friends, and we wanted to showcase that as much as possible.
In lieu of an in-person Open House, we did both a Drive-Thru Open House and a Virtual Open House that featured performances from our music classes, drama classes, and student projects! During our Drive-Thru Open House we had families come pick up projects, share their HSC spirit, and wave goodbye to teachers for the summer. For everyone who came, we we're so excited to see our students faces again! For those who weren't able to come we hope to reunite with you in the Fall and resume some semblance of normalcy.
