To begin, open up the Chrome web store. This can be done by clicking the three dots in the upper right hand of chrome, navigating to "Extensions" and clicking "Visit Chrome Web Store" as seen in the image below.
Once you're in the Chrome web store, in the upper right hand side of the website, click the search box and type in "Silverfort" and hit the "Enter" key on your keyboard, or select the suggestion that pops up as you type in "Silverfort" as seen here in the screenshot below:
Select "Silverfort" as pictured in the screenshot below:
Click the button that says "Add to Chrome"
You'll notice a pop up in the upper right hand corner of your chrome window requesting to add Silverfort. Click the "Add Extension icon. You'll then be presented with a notification stating that "Silverfort has been added to Chrome".
If the Silverfort extension does not open automatically, you can access it by clicking the little Puzzle icon (This is the extensions button) and then clicking "Silverfort" in the list.
Once Silverfort is open, you'll be brought to the registration process. To start, enter in your district email address in the empty field and then click the "Send Verification Code" Button. Then, go to your email and look for an email from Silverfort with a verification code. You will need to enter the six digit number in that email back into the Silverfort extension. Once you do that, Silverfort will show the last picture below stating "We are ready!". You have successfully set up the Silverfort Chrome Extension and are ready to receive MFA prompts via your computer.
After being enrolled in Silverfort's MFA solution, you will now notice that when signing into Google (or, any web application that uses google to authenticate you like Embrace, Skyward, Employee Portal, etc.) you will be forwarded to a screen that looks like something below. insert your district email address and password and click "Sign In".
After you click the sign in button you will get a Silverfort prompt on your cell phone or in the chrome window as seen in the screenshot below. (You can respond to either).
Here is a closer look at the Silverfort Chrome notification on desktop. If you did in fact try to sign into something be sure to click the "Allow Access" button in the notification.
The last screen you'll be brought to is the following asking you if you would like to stay signed in. If you are on a trusted computer like your own personal PC at home or your main district computer feel free to click "Yes" to the prompt. If this is a shared computer that many people sign in on click "No".
Here is an example of a Silverfort MFA prompt when signing into your district email online. Notice you will receive this on either your Chrome desktop extension, or your registered Silverfort application on your phone. Be sure to click the "Allow Access" button in the Chrome notification or approve on your registered Silverfort mobile app on your phone
