Teacher Monitor expectations are:
Communicate regularly with students.
Provide virtual office hours as requested by students.
Respond to messages and feedback requests within 24 business hours.
Grade and return assignments on time:
Quizzes/Exams: within 48 business hours
Projects, Labs, Writing & Speaking Assignments: within 72 business hours
Provide additional learning resources as needed.
Communicate with ExCEL team with questions/ concerns regarding students.
Assignments not submitted by the established due date will receive a soft zero. The soft zero allows students and families to see how missing work is affecting the student's grade.
Students have two weeks from the original due date to submit missing work for credit. After the late-work window closes, the soft zero becomes a hard zero, and the assignment can no longer be submitted for credit.
As the end of a marking period approaches, the two-week late-work window may be shortened to meet grading deadlines. All work must be submitted by the established marking-period deadline.
π Can I Participate in Sports and Activities If I'm an ExCEL Student?
Yes! ExCEL students are encouraged to stay involved in sports, clubs, and events at their home school.Β ExCEL students must meet all District eligibility requirements.Β

AI tools can support your learning but cannot be used to do your work for you.
β Unacceptable Use:
Using AI to fully complete and submit assignments as your own.
β Acceptable Uses:
Ask to find materials to complete a project
Ask to explain a concept in an easier way
Ask to correct grammatical errors in an original piece of writing
If a monitor teacher suspects that a student is asking AI to complete assignments, the teacher will reach out to the student to initiate a conversation and allow the opportunity to redo the assignment. Should the misuse of AI continue, administration will become involved and appropriate consequences will be determined.
Visit our [Computer Help Section] for troubleshooting tips, login help, and technical support.
If you think in-person learning may work better for you, reach out to your school counselor to begin the conversation.
This process can take time ~ donβt wait to ask!
