The heart of all of our Early & Expanded Learning programs are continuous monitoring of safety measures to mitigate health risk. Under these programs, health monitoring protocols and social distancing are implemented in accordance with CDC and CDPH guidance.
A daily health screening form requires caregivers to report that their child is asymptomatic and has not been exposed to anyone who is symptomatic. Buildings undergo daily sanitizing for high-touch areas (doorknobs, handles, etc.) using a medical grade solution. Face coverings are required in WSD facilities. Programs collaborate with WSD to rapidly and appropriately respond to any outbreaks in the community or school and to implement all necessary health and safety protocols.
A new WSD Early & Expanded Learning Family Handbook supplement, outlining new enhanced health and safety measures, was developed over the summer. Parents or guardians must sign a form agreeing to adhere to the new guidelines, and attend a mandatory parent meeting prior to students starting any of the Early & Expanded Learning programs.
