Credit Recovery

Credit Recovery Options

Students who have failed a class will likely need to make up that credit to be eligible for graduation. Your counselor can tell you which credits need to be made up and the best way for you to do it. Seniors should have their credits made up by May 1st to be cleared for graduation.

Here are some of the options students have to make up credits:

Edgenuity - An online credit recovery program where students can work at their own pace to make up credits.

Weber Online - Weber School District’s online credit recovery program. Students work at their own pace to make up credits.

Summer School - Roy High School offers in-person classes during the first two weeks of summer.

Northridge Learning Center - Paper packets may be purchased in Layton (2405 North Hill Field Road, Layton – 801-776-4532) or Brigham Center (44 South Main, Brigham City – 435-734-2550). The cost of each .25 credit is $56.50.

Utah Online – An out-of-district online credit recovery program. Students can make up credit during the summer. The cost is $50 for credit recovery classes during the 9 weeks of summer.

Credit Recovery Teacher Contract - If a student fails a course with a 50% or higher, they can make that credit up by talking with that teacher during the first week of the new term. Teachers will assign students work for the student to complete and issue a deadline to complete the work. This option only gives credit for the course, but does NOT replace the grade. Time is of the essence on this one, so make sure you see your teacher ASAP. The cost of doing this option is $30 per class.
