UPDATES TO ARTS CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION
Dear colleagues,
The Office of Curriculum and Instruction has released new discipline specific Arts Standards Professional Development documents that include:
- Resources to develop and align Arts curricula to the 2017 NYS Learning Standards for the Arts, including A Self-Guided Tour of the NYS Learning Standards for the Arts in Visual Arts, Media Arts, Dance, Theatre, and Music
- Toolkits to provide participants and presenters with essential questions and discussion points
- Think Documents which offer discipline specific at-a-glance resources to assist arts educators in their adaption of existing curricula to the 2017 Arts Learning Standards while meeting the needs of all students

Noteflight Learn is offering free subscriptions for music educators through June 30th, 2020. You can integrate Noteflight with Google Classroom. This page offers information regarding distance learning support.
Soundtrap is an interactive online music creation platform. Students can create podcasts or loops. There is a 30 day free trial.

Adobe is offering free access to Creative Cloud until May 31st, 2020.
Chrome Music Lab is a collection of 13 interactive "experiments" that let users create, play, and learn with a wide range of music concepts. These activities are also cross-platform, working on laptops, tablets, and phones.
GroovePizza lets students create and listen to beats. It has a feature to connect with math instruction with concepts such as shapes, angles, and fractions.
AI Duet allows students to perform melodies and artificial intelligence will create a harmony to accompany their melody.
K-12 Resources for Music Educators is an annotated list of hundreds of websites with tons of information for teachers and students.
