For this project you will be drawing your pet. If you have more than one, draw both, or pick one. If you don't have a pet that's ok, you can draw an animal you would like to have as a pet. Any animal you want, even ones that are extinct, or animals you couldn't possibly have as a pet like a hammerhead shark.
Here are the requirements.
1. Your pet, or animal should be nice and big, it's the focal point of the project.
2. Your pet has to be doing something it wouldn't normally do. Like a dog making spaghetti. The stranger the ideas, the better the project.
3. You have to have a background where the action is occurring. Make the background interesting, I don't want to see a lot of white nothingness. Ex: The dog is making spaghetti on a ferris wheel.
4. Your ENTIRE project has to be colored in. Everything. It's ok if there's some white here and there, but not a lot.
5. Please start in pencil, then outline your pencil lines in pen/marker/sharpie, then color fully with whatever media you want.
This is me and one of my cats. His name is Frog. Doesn't he look thrilled to be wearing those bunny ears? I decided to draw him for my crazy pet project. You can send me a picture of you and your pet if you want to.
Here's my finished example of this project. It's my cat Frog driving a dragster in a library. I really like the look of dragsters, so I decided it would be cool to put my cat in one. Libraries are known for being quiet places. Dragsters are really, really loud! So I thought it would be fun to have him dragging in a library, with an old librarian shushing him as he goes past. Notice I have fulfilled all of the requirements of the project.
My pet is nice and big, Frog is the focus of the project.
My pet is driving a dragster, something a cat wouldn't normally do, cuz cats can't drive.
The background is a library, I have drawn all of the books, the librarian's desk and the librarian.
The entire project is colored in, even the smoke. I do not want to see a polar bear, eating white rice, in a blizzard!
I started in pencil, then outlined in marker, then colored in with colored pencil.
