Adjective, Adjective, Noun project

For this project you will be choosing 2 adjectives from the list below and one noun, in that order - adjective, adjective, noun. You will write the three words at the top of a piece or 8 1/2 x 11 paper in that order, (adj, adj, noun) and draw what you have written. This project is meant to show your sense of humor and be fun! So please take some time to find the adjectives you like as well as the noun and spend 50 minutes on this. It would be great if you could add color using crayons, colored pencils, markers, sharpies or paint, any of these will do. If you don't have any of those supplies pencil will also be acceptable.

  • Adjective: An adjective changes a noun or a pronoun by describing, identifying, or quantifying words. An adjective usually precedes the noun or the pronoun which it changes. (ie: a blue truck; a happy baby; a sneaky bird)
  • Noun: A noun is a word used to name a person, animal, place, thing, and abstract idea.

What You Need:

  • pencil
  • paper (8 1/2 x 11, blank would be best but I will accept lined paper)
  • coloring tools (preferred)
  • list of adjectives (list is below )
  • list of nouns (list is below)

Below is the list of adjectives and nouns. An example would be selecting the adjective fat, then the adjective fuzzy, then the noun cat. You would then draw a fat, fuzzy cat. You can choose any adjectives and nouns that you want, meaning they don't have to be across from one another on the list. You could choose screaming, sneaky pirate. It's entirely up to you which adjectives and noun you choose. Please make this a fully realized project with an environment in which this thing lives. Where would the fat, fuzzy cat be? On a window sill? In your bedroom? Under a table? Think about where this thing is and add that to the artwork. Make it complete, not a fat, fuzzy cat in a sea of white.

Here's my drawing of Sid, the sad, big-eyed pig. Notice I included a background that help to tell a bit of story. If you look at where he is and what he's been served to eat, you understand why he's a sad, big eyed pig. It helps to include details such as these when creating your artwork. It makes it more complete. Please don't leave large areas of white nothing in your work.
