We are the MOST Spirited School in Canada! In Sept 2021, Staples Canada and the Toronto Raptors began a nationwide search for the MOST spirited school in Canada. And guess what? WE WON! 

Sam and Peter wrote 250 words on why KCI was deserving of this honour. They wrote, "There is only one KCI. One school with so much spirit, our cheers could knock your socks off from 100 miles away. One school with so much pride, we look forward to taking the bus every day, knowing our destination. One school with so much love, that everyone calls it their second home. There is only one Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate & Vocational school. In the past year, our one-of-a-kind energy has adapted virtually to prove that nothing, not even a deadly virus, can impede Raider spirit. Virtual hype videos united more than 100 staff and students, to bring joy during a dull and disconnected time. In February, our creativity soared to new heights as KCI hosted the first-ever VIRTUAL school-wide Olympics. Each day of the week, students and staff would tune into exhilarating team competitions that brought the KCI community together. While only one team would be crowned Raiderlympic champions, collectively, we realized how resilient the KCI spirit is to unprecedented times. However, no matter how undefeatable the KCI spirit is, pieces were lost to the darkness of the Pandemic. Since returning to school, the building has come alive with excitement of new happenings and opportunities we missed for so long. The KCI spirit is returning. Piece by piece. Day by day. I love KCI with my whole being. And I am not the only one. That is what makes this school so special. There is only one school that deserves $15000. That school is KCI."
