Becoming a Raider is the start of a great adventure and is a wonderful privilege as you become a part of over 170 years of history and tradition. However, if this step makes you feel nervous, anxious or overwhelmed, as a student, parent or guardian, you are not alone. This portal has been designed to help you understand what the transition to Grade 9 at KCI will look/feel like, and hopefully remove as much of the uncertainty that exists. We can't wait to officially welcome you into our ONEKCI community.
NEW INFORMATION ITEMS:
On Thursday November 27th from 6:30-8:30pm, all Grade 8 students, and their families, are invited to our information night.
There will be a presentation in the Auditorium at the beginning of the evening, followed by an open house style opportunity for everyone to visit the many wonderful academic, athletic, support and community based areas within our great school. There will also be Magnet Program presentations (Fast Forward and French Immersion) happening. See you then!
Students that are entering one of KCI's Magnet Programs (French Immersion or Fast Forward) will now have access to a free GRT Bus Pass.
***Students must live outside of the walking zone (3.2km) and make regular use of their pass to maintain the service.***
Reach out to the Transition Counsellor (information below) for more details, or if you have questions.
Starting with the graduating Class of 2026, if students go above and beyond in their volunteer work during high school, they can earn a Minister’s Certificate of Recognition for Community Involvement when they graduate. This new certificate celebrates students’ dedication to helping others and for completing more than 50 volunteer hours during high school.
