Two Way Communication with Families

Wilmington teachers use TalkingPoints or ClassDojo for regular, two-way communication* with families. These apps provide automatic, two-way translation in English and the home language. 

The district uses Lexikeet Language Services for interpretation at meetings and conferences and for some formal written translation. The Lexmark Translation Assistant provides informal documents and invitations in multiple languages. 

By contacting an ESL teacher, school administrator, nurse, or Student Support Services, teachers, and parents can request an interpreter or translator to ensure accurate communication of essential information. 

*Translation is for written documents. Interpretation is for oral language.
