This evaluation was initiated to measure the real‑world effectiveness of Work for Impact’s ethical outsourcing model and Pathways Program, guided by the 2023 created Theory of Change. A convergent parallel mixed‑methods design combined:
Quantitative data from platform metrics and census‑style surveys of 322 contractors and 25 Pathways alumni, and
Qualitative insights from 17 in‑depth interviews with contractors, Pathways alumni and clients, plus two co‑creation workshops to validate and refine the Theory of Change.
Key findings demonstrate that WfI’s model consistently delivers:
Stable, fair work for 95% of contractors, with a median 280% wage uplift over local living wages
Improved well‑being, as 92% report better work–life balance and 87% note positive effects on their families and communities
Empowerment and agency, with 85% feeling able to negotiate terms and influence their assignments
Client value, in the form of up to 66% cost savings, stronger talent retention, and authentic CSR impact
Pathways success, where 100% of participants gained motivation and ethical‑work awareness, and 85% felt equipped to steer their careers.
Key findings demonstrate that WfI’s model consistently delivers:Next steps focus on turning these insights into action:
Short‑term: Enhance contractor check‑ins, streamline survey communications, and improve fee transparency
Medium & long‑term: Scale client outreach through referral programs and an integrated CSR toolkit, expand Pathways via corporate sponsorships, and build an ongoing impact dashboard
Monitoring: Institutionalize a core set of KPIs (output and outcome indicators), regular surveys, quarterly data pulls, and annual interviews to track progress against both social and business objectives.
The evidence confirms that Work for Impact not only transforms individual lives but also creates measurable business and social value for clients. Embedding these recommendations and sustaining rigorous measurement will ensure continuous improvement, support future research, and deepen WfI’s role as the leader in ethical, high‑performance global outsourcing.
