Hello SY Parents!
What a lovely month it has been, seeing students connecting with one another, growing their interest in their academic subjects, and pursuing creativity in electives and clubs.
Please note the following:
Our first overnight Q.U.E.S.T. trip is Monday, 7 October through Wednesday, 9 October. Permission forms are due on Tuesday, 1 October. Please note that there is a 15,000 KES cost associated with the trip.
Conferences are coming up on Friday, 11 October. These are student-led conferences, and students are working hard to prepare. It's best to organize to come in person; however, if you can't make it, we will have a virtual option for you! Please log in to Classter to sign up for conferences. You will sign up for a slot under Ms. Taylor.
We are collecting surveys for our Cognia Accreditation. Please complete the following two very short surveys by Tuesday, 1 October. Your feedback is helpful for us to make WSS a better place. We are aiming for 100% parent participation! Please fill out Parent - Climate/Culture and Parent - General.
Don't forget these important dates!
Thu, 10 Oct: Huduma Day (Public holiday; no school)
Fri, 11 Oct: Student-Led Conferences (no school; students only come to school for their conference)
12 - 22 Oct: Mid-term Break (no school)
Warm regards,
The SY Team

You are welcome to pop by briefly on Monday for our Sneak-a-Peek (14:00-16:00). Sneak-a-Peek is an opportunity for you to see your classroom(s), meet your teachers, and drop off stationary and other classroom supplies for the school year.
If you are a new parent, you are invited to join us at our Welcome Tea on Monday (13:00-14:00) on our lunch verandah (you will be directed from school reception).
School formally begins with a half-day on Tuesday, 27 August at 8:00. School will end at 12:15. School transport will be in operation that day.
The Seconday Years school day begins at 8:00 AM this year! Take a look at the Enjuba Timetable (Grade 10) and Sulwe Timetable (Grade 9).

We have implemented a new Student Information and Communication system called Classter. Please see a separate email from the school with further details, and follow these guidelines to get set up. If you are experiencing any problems, please contact our tech team (tech@woodlandstarkenya.com).
