(Last year, students wore dresses, tuxes, button down shirts, jeans, skirts, slacks, whatever made them feel amazing!)

For most high school students, prom night is a special time of sheer fun and memory making. However, for those teens who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning, prom night can be a source of anxiety. While their classmates are busy lining up the perfect outfit and date, LGBTQ+ students often worry about whether they will face discrimination or be harassed at the dance. As a result, some students choose to avoid the event altogether. This prom is an opportunity for approximately 300 LGBTQ+ and straight ally high school students to experience an important high school milestone in a safe and affirming environment. Students will be attending from Billerica Memorial High School, Burlington High School, Greater Lawrence Technical School, Littleton High School, Lowell High School, Malden High School, Melrose High School, Minuteman Career and Technical High School, North Reading High School , Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School, Peabody High School, Reading Memorial High School, Shawsheen Valley Technical High School, Stoneham High School, Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School, Winchester High School, and Woburn Memorial High School!
Enjoy a night of music, food, dancing, entertainment, and fun with about 300 LGBTQ+ and straight ally youth.
This event is open to LGBTQ+ and straight ally high school students from the high schools listed above, and more. If your high school is not on the list, please reach out or ask. Registration is required. Please check in with the staff member from your school that will be attending, to ensure that your permission form is complete in order to purchase a ticket. If you are unable to pay for your ticket, please speak to the staff member from your school or reach out to Gretchen Pollard-Ramos (gpollardramos@woburnps.com).
