Spectrum Club is a Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender-Queer-Straight Alliance
An LGBTQ+ Ally is any person who supports and stands up for the rights and equality of LGBTQ+ people.
The WMHS Spectrum Club will be celebrating Ally Week October 7-11. WMHS students and staff will be honoring LGBTQ+ students and families of Woburn. However, STAFF from other schools are invited to participate. Please use the Google Form to let us know how you would like to participate and which awareness items you would like sent to you.
Pledge to be an ally to LGBTQ+ students and families by signing the ally banner and/or wearing a rainbow awareness ribbon.
We attach the rainbow ribbon to the Ally card.
Share your pronouns to show that respecting and sharing pronouns should be commonplace. Wear a sticker with your pronouns and/or add your pronouns to your email signature. This is one of many ways to help transgender and gender non-conforming students feel more welcome.
*International Pronouns Day will be honored across the globe on October 16, 2019. We honored the day during WMHS Ally Week.
Millions of Americans wear purple on Spirit Day as a sign of support for LGBTQ+ youth, who are more likely to face bullying and harassment because of their identities, and to speak out against LGBTQ+ bullying. Purple awareness ribbons will be provided.
*Spirit Day will be honored across the United States on October 17, 2019. We honored the day during WMHS Ally Week.
