Identification for AT programming
Annually, the Academically Talented (AT) Committee screens students for eligibility into the program using the following multiple data points:
SAGES-3 nationally normed assessment*
NJSLA performance for rising grades 3-8
targeted domains (Creativity, Motivation & Leadership) of the Renzulli Scales for Rating the Behavioral Characteristics of Superior Students
local benchmark assessment data
content area report card grades
*All rising third grade students participate in the Sages-3 assessment in the spring of their second grade year. Rising fourth through eighth graders may be recommended by parents or teachers and will then participate in the Sages-3 assessment.
All of the data points noted above are placed on an Identification Matrix and reviewed by the AT committee for eligibility determination.
