The WJHSD offers Speech and Language Support services to children presenting with speech or language needs which inhibit them from communicating with independence in the school environment. Speech needs may include auditory discrimination skills, accurate sound production, and speaking with fluency. Language skills include receptive (understanding spoken language), expressive (using spoken language), and social language skills. Speech screenings, evaluations, and a tiered intervention model ensure all children are provided with the communication support they need.
