In 11th grade I enrolled in the Computer Aided Design class and the Introduction to Trades class. At the end of the year my teachers let us have some creative freedom to do a project using the machines and programs we learned in the class.

In my Computer Aided Design class I transferred the Ripcurl logo into Autodesk Inventor to trace it with the tools. After I created the logo in Inventor we used the CNC Plasma Cutting machine to cut the design into 1/8th inch steel.

For Intro to Trades I used the woodshop to turn a 2x4 into a custom piece. I traced the outline of the surfboard onto the 2x4 and cut it using the band saw in our wood shop. I used the disc sander to round the edges and used sand paper for the finishing touches. After making the shape of the surfboard I found a design on the internet. I then used the laser cutter to cut the design onto the surfboard.
