The Engineering Technology Department asked me to redo the display cabinet in the technology hallway. The first thing I did was laser cut the letters to create a title block for the cabinet. I wanted to use the laser cutter because it is very precise and can give the cabinet a wood accent. Then, I picked my Michigan View and Barndominium designs to display. For the Michigan View I made a 3D model that was 6 inches in depth for the display cabinet, because I wasn't modelling the entire home I wanted to make sure my design was still head turning even though I was only a portion of the home. I chose to do this design because it was the most intricate elevation and has a lot of different depths and rooflines. I used foam core to create the walls and roof in the shapes needed and I printed out the siding from Revit. I colored in any imperfections with markers and I used Inventor and the 3D printer to print the windows and door to give the model a pop. I added the elevations and floorplans for both designs so it shows the whole process of design. Shown below is the information about me that I put on the side of the cabinet and added common architecture tools that we use on the other side as well.
