To celebrate the end of term, we will be hosting our first school festival - West-onbury - on the last day of term!
On this day, children are invited to take on the festival vibe and come into school wearing bright colours/non-uniform. The PTA have very kindly agreed to pay for us to have 3 large inflatables on that day, which each bubble will access seperately, as well as a drink and treat for the children. Lunch will be our annual BIG PICNIC!
We couldn't think of a nicer way to end another very strange year at school!
All children will be spending the afternoon with their new teacher on Monday 5th July 2021.
For children currently in Nursery to Year 3, the collection and drop off arrangement will not change from the normal that day.
For children currently in Year 4: These children will be walked to Highfield by staff for 1.30pm. They should be collected from Highfield by parents at 3pm. Please wait, socially distanced and wearing masks, outside of the school gates. There will be some Prudhoe West staff present to ensure children are handed to the correct adult. Any children booked in to attend After School Club will be walked back to school by staff.
From September, the cost of school meals will rise to £2.10 a day (£5.50 per week) for children in Preschool, Nursery, Year 3 and Year 4.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, alongside those registered for Free School Meals, will continue to recieve their meal for free each day.
For children in Preschool - Year 2, all children have a school meal each day.
For children in Year 3 and 4 - children may opt to bring a packed lunch, but our preference would be that they continue to take a school meal.
Meals should be booked and paid for in advance each week on the School Gateway App - Clubs section.
We hope you all enjoyed reading your child's school report.
As detailed in the email that accompanied the report, we are always really keen to hear your feedback about what we do. It is often your feedback and ideas that bring about further improvements. Staff are always also very grateful when your positive experiences about school are shared
The link to the form is below.
REMINDER: As the weather gets warmer, please ensure that alongside a light jacket, children have a hat/sunglasses in school to wear while outside. We are unable to apply sun cream at school, so please ensure children have a long-lasting cream applied before school that will protect them from the sun!
As England have got through to the next round of the Euros, we will be continuing to show our support for our national team. We will have an optional 'RED, WHITE AND BLUE/ENGLAND' non uniform day on all England match days for the rest of term - tomorrow, TUESDAY 29th JUNE is the next. Children can wear their England kit/merchandise, clothes in the England Team colours and face paints etc if they wish!
We're really keen to be able to pass on as much pre-loved uniform as possible at the end of term. Many families have already benefitted from this scheme and the end of the year is an ideal time to replenish our stocks.
If you have uniform/PE kit that your child has outgrown (or dare I say finished with, Year 4 parents!) we ask that you launder this as normal and we will then accept donations every day during the last week of term. Please hand in as you have it, as this allows our volunteers to sort little by little. Leave uniform in bags in the outdoor classroom by the car park. (As the children won't be in uniform on the last day, we hope this will enable more items to be donated).
We also ask for other school items - book bags, school shoes/trainers, black or grey joggers/leggings/shorts, summer or winter coats etc.
Thanks for all the donations so far. Please complete the Swap Shop form on the website (link below) to put in any requests for the new term. We strongly encourage all parents to utilise this service.
Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for Prudhoe West PTA with Easyfundraising?
There are over 4,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds.
All you need to do is:
1. Go to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/prudhoewestpta/?utm_campaign=raise-more and join for free.
2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.
3. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to Prudhoe West PTA at no extra cost to you whatsoever!
There are no catches or hidden charges and Prudhoe West PTA will be really grateful for your donations.
If shopping on Amazon, please also support the school by accessing amazon via smile.amazon.co.uk .
The first time you log on, search for 'Prudhoe West' (Prudhoe West First School Parent Teacher Association) and select us as your organisation to support, then shop via the smile.amazon.co.uk link rather than the main amazon site. Again there is no difference to you, but this will support the school. Please share these links via your socials and with friends and family.
