Weekly Highlights
This year's Diwali Ball was a memorable occasion for our students, families, colleagues and alumni to come together for this extravaganza and colourful celebration.
We experienced passion, talent and community spirit through student, parent and teacher performances in and beyond the Auditorium.
We were delighted to welcome back a Class of 2002 alumna, who started our Diwali celebration in 1999, to join us in the auditorium to celebrate this special occasion and shared her passion with our students.
This wonderful legacy of the Diwali celebration has now been driven forward by our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and Diwali Committee students with strong dedication and great energy. Thank you to everyone who participated.
On Thursday, 50 parents attended the first PTA Coffee Morning. The Maths Department’s presentation was well-received, helping parents understand our maths curriculum and learn how to best support their child's learning at home.
As part of our commitment to foster global learning and cultural appreciation, our European Languages Faculty hosted a lunchtime screening this week to celebrate the Festival du Cinéma d’Animation (Animated Film Festival). Students enjoyed a selection of French animated short films and delicious French pastries.
This event was held in collaboration with the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, the Institut Français, and the Association Française du Cinéma d’Animation.
This week, a dedicated CAS team successfully ran a Food Drive in support of Feeding Hong Kong. The generous response from our school community resulted in a significant donation of non-perishable food items. These contributions will go a long way in supporting those in need and fighting food waste in Hong Kong. A huge thank you to everyone who donated and helped make a difference!

Our students’ commitment to the partnership with John F. Kennedy Centre is inspiring. Their work supporting English reading, planning engaging activities and interacting with primary students with disabilities demonstrates exceptional awareness, kindness and service skills.
Our U16 girls' volleyball secured a brilliant, hard-fought victory over their opponent this week. They dominated two intense sets, winning 25:23 and 26:24, showcasing fantastic teamwork.
Our swimming team delivered some exceptional performances in the recent HKSSF swimming competition. Alongside a raft of Personal Bests (PBs), there were medals galore for both individual swimmers and relay teams. Well done to all who proudly represented WIS.
Well done to our Sports Ambassadors on helping at the Kennedy School Year 6 Swim Gala and sharing their passion for sports with younger students.
Two students from our High Performance Student Athlete Programme (HPSAP) were crowned with the Outstanding Junior Athlete Award (OJAA) title in the first half of 2025.
Year 12 Haidi was honoured with the Most Outstanding Female Junior Athlete award. At the ceremony, she shared that this recognition motivates her to train harder, push her limits, and strive for even greater achievements in future competitions.
Year 11 Ila was also presented with an Outstanding Junior Athlete Award for her exceptional performance. This recognition follows her success at the 18th Artistic Gymnastics Junior Asian Championships, where she won two Bronze Medals in the Women's Balance Beam and Women's Team events.
Year 13 student Duncan, a member of the Hong Kong, China National Swimming Training Squad, has been selected to represent Hong Kong at the 3rd Asian Youth Games at the end of October. This competition holds special significance as it will be his very first time participating in the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong China (SFOC) Games.

Join our parents and staff for a complimentary and uplifting yoga and mindfulness session, hosted by Garima, a WIS parent & yoga instructor, in celebration of WIS Kindness Week.
