Thirty Year 10 students participated in the UK Biology Challenge, joining over 42,000 students from around the world in this year's competition. Globally, 5% of students were awarded a Gold, 10% Silver and 10% Bronze. Well done to all the participants and special congratulations to the following students for their outstanding achievements in winning medals:

On Sunday, 18 May, history was made as our WIS C Grade Boys Table Tennis team (Year 7) competed in the Finals of the HKSSF tournament at Smithfield Sports Centre. This marks the first time in 12 years that a C Grade team has advanced to this stage of the competition. The team triumphed in the first round of the finals, with proud parents cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines.
Congratulations to Aariv Shah (Captain), Neil Liu, Vihaan Gandhi, and Yuvi Kaul! A special thank you to their dedicated coach for his support throughout their CAS activity.
WIS MYP Science Week celebrated the wonders of science across our Years 7 to 9 classes. Throughout the week, students engaged in themed lessons centered around 'Change and Adapt,' exploring scientific concepts through hands-on learning and inquiry.
We also hosted extra lunchtime science sessions, where our Year 12 students assisted with exciting activities such as building loudspeakers from scratch and experimenting with dry ice - sparking curiosity and collaboration across year levels.
A highlight of the week was our Poster Competition, which showcased outstanding entries. Congratulations and well done to the winners on their creativity!

On Tuesday, our WISustain students proudly showcased their impressive achievements in front of our parents at the Coffee Morning hosted by our PTA.
Led by Year 10 students Ojaswini Virmani and Romy Fremder, they delivered confident and articulate presentations on their ongoing initiatives, highlighting key accomplishments, future goals and innovative ideas supported by thoughtful research. The students also offered a lively Q&A session, welcoming feedback and responding to questions with enthusiasm and insight.
As a final highlight, the students hosted a fun and interactive quiz that brought together parents, teachers and staff in a spirited and educational activity.

On Thursday, WIS team participated in the semi-finals of the Battle of the Books at the German Swiss International School. All twelve members of the team showed excellent teamwork and enjoyed building their student leadership skills.

From making bubble tea and practicing mindfulness through origami, to touching up Project Kart in the design studio, rehearsing with the band at Rock School, playing tennis, practicing Taekwondo, and discussing filming topics with friends - our students have been actively engaged in a wide range of experiences.
We look forward to sharing more of the joy and creativity they bring to their activities!
On 17 May, seventeen Year 9 students from WIS embarked on an inspiring six-week journey to rural Queensland, Australia. They have been adapting remarkably well and are already embracing the spirit of community, challenge and discovery.
