Voici une liste de tâches pour l'été
Consistently practising your language and learning new vocabulary is essential. If you spend 6 weeks without language practice, you will take a step backwards from the end of Y12 to the start of Y13.
Focus on the four skill areas of language that will all be assessed at 25% each:
Speaking
-Work on the oral exam preparation questions (4 themes). Your answers should show off key vocabulary from the topics and demonstrate sophisticated language structures and varied tenses.
-Practise the description of a photo (see attached photos) using the support material from the google classroom. You should be able to introduce a photo, link it to a theme, talk about its link to France, describe the people, analyse their actions, and explain your feelings about it.
Writing
Complete practice questions of 120-150 words from past exam papers. See the google classroom for past papers and mark schemes, focusing on LANGUAGE, MESSAGE AND FORMAT (Writing papers used to be called Paper 2).
Reading
Build vocabulary through regular use of Duo Lingo / Memrise / Quizlet classes that have been created for this purpose. Re-read articles, texts, and model answers which we have studied this year in class, and make lists according to the 5 themes / 20 subthemes.
Listening
Access online material (videos, podcasts, youtubes, vlogs) regularly to build a strong link in your mind between written and spoken French. Use subtitles in English to help with meaning, or in French to help with pronunciation.
