Homework

Reading is such an important skill to learn and it takes a lot of practice. For this reason, we are asking that the only homework your child works on from school is to read for at least 30 minutes each night. They can read on their own, with a parent or sibling, or read to a younger child. The more they read, the more they will learn and understand.

There are so many great books out there. We have many in the classroom that your child is welcome to sign out, bring home, read, and return it to class when he/she has finished it. As your child reads, ask them to tell you about the book. The more we can have fun with reading and engage with each other about stories, events, and new things learned, the more your child will enjoy reading. Then they will sit down on their own with a book to just enjoy that time.
