Thursdays are MUSIC THURSDAYS in Room 17! Mr. Gordon brings in his guitar and plays for us, while we sing, clap, and dance along. He has played all different songs for us, and he has taught us about improvisation and the blues. We even got to see him change his guitar's strings. We all look forward to Music Thursdays!

It’s been a busy 3 weeks of school! We have been learning and practicing our classroom routines and expectations, as well as getting used to the daily 3rd grade schedule of academics, Unified Arts, lunch, and recess. As students immediately observed, the schedule is very different than what they were used to in 2nd grade!
Our class has defined what it means to have HEART in Room 17. Our HEART poster reminds us of what it means to be Honest, Engaged, Appropriate, Responsible, and Timely throughout the day while we are learning together. Students have been working hard to meet the classroom expectations, and we already filled our HEART Jar for the second time!
One of our community building activities was Crystal Connections. Each student and adult in our class community answered 6 questions about themselves on their own “crystal” molecule. We then each had to find someone who had the same answer so we could connect and grow our crystal, and continued to connect crystals together until our whole community was represented in one large crystal molecule!
