Card Trick: If you have a deck of cards at home, ask your child to try the card trick he/she learned this week. I was very impressed at how observant the class was when I did the trick on them. It didn't take long for them to figure out what I was doing. This trick is a great way to practice basic math facts. Math can be learned in so many fun ways.
Here are some math games that you can play with your child. These games are fun and they support their learning, understanding, and thinking around place value and the order and size of numbers. You can print out the game boards if you have a printer at home, or your child can ask for some game boards at school and bring them home to play. The directions are included here.
