Welcome to the Maple Room!

Welcome to the Maple Room, our mixed-age classroom where children have the opportunity to grow, explore, and learn alongside one another! With a broader range of ages and developmental stages, our classroom community is intentionally designed to meet children where they are while offering meaningful opportunities to stretch, challenge themselves, and build new skills. Children may be entering with different levels of independence, communication, social development, and classroom experience, and we embrace these differences as an important part of our learning community. Through consistent relationships and a predictable classroom rhythm, children continue to build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging.

In the Maple Room, play continues to be our universal language and the foundation for learning. As children grow, our experiences become increasingly expansive, inviting deeper exploration, problem-solving, collaboration, and creative expression. Through open-ended materials, art, dramatic play, movement, stories, music, science, and hands-on investigations, children are encouraged to ask questions, make connections, and follow their interests. Older and younger children learn from one another, while educators thoughtfully scaffold experiences to support each child’s next steps. Our goal is to nurture confident, capable learners who feel a genuine sense of curiosity, connection, and joy in their classroom community.
