We enjoy celebrating birthdays at school, but the current trends in parenting styles are telling us that families are increasingly conscientious of the food their child is served. With these concerns in mind, the staff at Windmill has chosen not to celebrate birthdays at school with a snack from home. Instead, we would like to honor your child's birthday with one of our old Windmill birthday traditions.

On, or around, your child's birthday he/she may bring in a favorite book from home. The book will be read at our end of the day Meeting Time by a parent or grandparent as our special guest reader!

Schedule in advance with your teaching team if you or a grandparent would like to read for your child’s birthday to make sure it does not conflict with other events (and remember it does not have to be ON your child’s actual birthday, children love celebrating their birthday’s anytime).

In order to protect the feelings of all of the children at school, we ask that birthday invitations and gift bags not be distributed at school.
