June is a seasoned educator with two decades of experience. Her background experience ranges from High School, Middle School, and most recently Elementary School. She was born in Chicago with strong ties to her parent's nativeland of Yucatan, México. She is proud to have been raised Mayan, speaking some Yucatec Maya, Spanish, and English. She received her bachelor's degree at The University of Illinois at Chicago in 1998 in Spanish and her master's degree in Elementary Education in 2014. June enjoys spending time with her teen daughter, her son (who just left for college), and her dog, Bentley. June is excited to make connections with her students and build great relationships.

Ms. Beien is excited to begin her 4th year of teaching second grade in the D39 community. Prior to joining the Harper team, she taught second grade in Evanston for four years and third grade for two years in Colorado. Ms. Beien graduated from DePauw University and then joined Teach For America, which ultimately sparked her love for teaching. She obtained her Master of Arts in Teaching from Dominican University and loves all things second grade. When she's not teaching, Ms. Beien loves running, spending time with her family, and playing with her three cats!

Mrs. Gorney has been a resident of Wilmette for the past 22 years. All five of her children attended Central School for their K-4 education. Sheila’s youngest daughter will be entering 6th grade this year at Highcrest Middle School, two of her daughters are seniors at New Trier H.S. and she has two college age sons. She cherishes the days when her children attended Central School and appreciates all the time and effort that went into fostering life-long learning skills in each of her children. Sheila has a BA from St. Norbert College in DePere, WI and an MAT from DePaul University. Her first years of teaching were spent in Glenview School District 34 teaching 4th grade and then Park Ridge District 64 where she taught 2nd grade. For the past three years, Sheila has been teaching 3rd grade at St. Faith, Hope and Charity School in Winnetka. She is now excited to be on the team at Harper School where she will be a 2nd grade remote teacher for District 39.

Mrs. Pinney is preparing to begin her 24th year of teaching. She has made Harper School her home where she has spent the last 5 years teaching library and the previous 15 years teaching technology. Mrs. Pinney earned her BS from Butler University in Elementary Education and taught for 2 years in Indiana before teaching technology for 1 year in Berwin, IL. She earned her Masters degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Pinney enjoys reading, cooking, playing tennis and golf. She also loves spending time with her family, Mike, Boyd (10), Luella (7), and her dog, Scout (15).
