October Poems
Five Little Pumpkins sitting on a gate,
The First one said “Oh my it’s getting late!”
The second one said “There’s a chill in the air.”
The Third one said “But we
don’t care!”
The Fourth one said “let’s
Run and Run and Run.”
The Fifth one said “I’m ready for some fun.”
Oooooooo went the wind.
and Out went the lights!
And the five little pumpkins
rolled out of sight!
Autumn
Autumn
– by Alexander Posey
“In the dreamy silence
Of the afternoon, a
Cloth of gold is woven
Over wood and prairie;
And the jaybird, newly
Fallen from the heaven,
Scatters cordial greetings,
And the air is filled with
Scarlet leaves, that, dropping,
Rise again, as ever,
With a useless sigh for
Rest – and it is Autumn.”
