September 30 - October 6 Read Aloud Rating!
Kindergarten:
Scavenger Hunt - We will walk around the library shelves to learn where to find our favorite books. We will learn how to use shelf markers and take books off the shelves properly.
Learning Target: I know how to find some of my favorite books and how to safely take them off of the shelves.
If time... we will read Cat's Colors, by Airlie Anderson
First Grade:
We will finish reading Jack and the Beanstalk and discuss Fairy Tales.
We will make our own sacks of "Magic Beans"
Read: Jack and the Beanstalk, by Richard Walker
Learning Target: I am familiar with classic fairy tales.
Second Grade:
Read: The Rough-Face Girl, by Rafe Martin
We will also discuss the NYS Three Apples Award

We discuss how it can be hard to leave our family to go to school and ways to make it feel ok! We will also look at some books about real owls and learn the difference between fiction and non-fiction.
First Grade:
