Kindergarten:

We discuss how it can be hard to leave our family to go to school and ways to make it feel ok! We will also look at some books about real owls and learn the difference between fiction and non-fiction.

We will practice checking out books, and how to line up at the circulation desk and at the end of the class.
We will take your picture to get to know you!!
We will take a tour of the library and look at some books by Mo Willems.
First Grade:
A Perfectly Messed-Up Story, by Patrick McDonnell
We will discuss book care!
We will check out!
Second - Fourth Grade:
Sound of Kindness, by Amy Ludwig VanDerwater
We will make Kindness bookmarks and check out.

Fourth Grade:
We will discuss book care and talk about the special role of 4th-grade students in the library. We are the caretakers of the library at the end of the day, we tidy everything up and get it ready for the next day.
