New Student Enrollment for the 2025-26 School Year
Welcome to North Wilkes High School! To ensure a smooth enrollment process for the upcoming school year, please follow these steps. Enrollment will be held on August 11th, 12th, or 13th.
The first step is to complete the online enrollment forms. This is required for all new students to Wilkes County Schools, including those who are transferring from another school within the county.
After completing the online forms, you will need to schedule an in-person enrollment appointment for one of the designated dates: August 11th, 12th, or 13th. Both a custodial parent or guardian and the student must attend this appointment.
Step 3: Gather Required Documents 📂
To make your appointment as quick as possible, please bring the following documents with you:
Parent/Guardian Photo ID: A valid photo identification for the custodial parent or guardian.
Student's Birth Certificate: A copy of your child's official birth certificate.
Proof of Residence: A recent utility bill (power, water, etc.) showing the service address, a mortgage statement, a rental/lease agreement, or a property tax statement.
Special Note: If you are living with a Wilkes County resident and do not have your own proof of residence, you and the resident can complete a Wilkes County Schools Statement of Residence Affidavit. The school will provide this form.
Proof of Guardianship: Documents such as the child's birth certificate, divorce papers, or court-ordered custody paperwork. Custody paperwork is required for any child not living with their natural parent.
Special Note: If the student is living with an adult who is not their legal guardian, additional forms will be provided at the school to complete during your appointment.
Up-to-Date Immunization Records: A copy of your child's complete immunization record.
Health Assessment: This form, completed by your child's doctor, is only required for students who are new to North Carolina schools.
Discipline and Felony Status Affidavit: This form is required for all students who have previously attended a public school. It must be signed in the presence of a notary public. The school can provide assistance with this form during your appointment.
