This honors-level course trains selected 11th and 12th-grade students to become Peer Group Connection (PGC) leaders. Leaders will work with small groups of freshmen to help them successfully transition into high school. The program focuses on creating a positive and welcoming school culture by helping freshmen develop skills to handle social and academic challenges.

Journalism 1 Honors (Yearbook)

This honors course provides an introduction to the principles of yearbook production. Students will develop skills in writing, photography, business management, and interpersonal communication. The course emphasizes teamwork and creativity as students work together to produce the school yearbook. Application and teacher approval are required for enrollment. This course is taught during the first semester.

Journalism 2 Honors (Yearbook)

This honors-level course is a continuation of Journalism 1, where students will build upon their skills in writing, photography, and design to complete the yearbook. Students will continue to refine their abilities in a collaborative, production-focused environment. Application and teacher approval are required. This course is taught during the second semester.

Teen Living

This course is designed to help students manage stress and learn healthy coping skills for facing the ups and downs of life. Students will first learn to recognize when their thoughts and emotions are negatively impacting their view of themselves and their relationships with others. Students will also learn skills to help them better manage the stress in their lives and become more self-confident in going after their personal goals.
