In the Fall of 2019 I completed an internship with the Music Box Dinner Theater. The above presentation is a snap shot view of my duties. This internship was geared toward event planning and management in hospitality as well as running a business from the ground up in entrepreneurship. I was able to complete all positional training and even took part in the season's winter performance "Hello Dolly' a classic play and a favorite in the Northeast Pennsylvania area. I also learned what it was like to be cross trained and sometimes completed two jobs in one night such as set up and serving.
I even served and did the performance. Before, after, and during the intermission of the show I would come out to the crowd in 1/2 costume and my staff apron and serve or complete my tasks for my designated position of that night. This internship gave me the insight to how much work goes into not only putting on a show but running a dinner buffet and bar. The Music Box was a great and challenging experience for me and I am happy to have been able to participate in it. I have since taken away extended knowledge of serving, bar tending, and back of the house service including running a buffet and the workings of being in a performance and all the work that is put in back stage.
