Welcome to Ash Class!

We have had another fantastic week in Ash Class.

Just a quick reminder that PE and Forest School days have now swapped - PE is now on a Wednesday and Forest School is on a Friday.

This week in Ash Class:

In Phonics, we have been recapping on our Phase 3 phonemes, reading and writing words containing these. We have also been reading longer words containing 2 digraphs. The children have been working extremely hard in Phonics. The activities below will support your child to further develop the skills we have been working on throughout the week.

This week in Drawing Club, we have looked at the story 'Find Your Happy'. 

We have learnt 4 new vocabulary words this week:

Gloomy

Feeling dark, sad, or full of grey clouds inside your heart.

At the start, Sloth is feeling very gloomy and doesn't know how to turn his sad day into a happy one.

Grateful

Feeling thankful and happy for the nice things you have.

Sloth learns that feeling grateful for warm sunshine and helpful friends brings a big smile to his face.

Overwhelmed

Feeling like your emotions are too big, too loud, or too tricky to handle all at once.

When his bad mood feels overwhelming, Sloth asks his friends to help him figure out what to do.

Cherished

Something or someone you love very much and hold close to your heart.

Sloth realises that spending time with his cherished friends is the best way to find happiness.

We have wrote special codes creating secret emotion powers for Sloth, about where we think he will find his happy and what he will find at the end of the rainbow.

The children have produced some fantastic codes this week and have even started to build their very own codes!

In Maths, we have been learning about place value. We have been counting forwards from different numbers and using resources to help us find 1 more.
