Most articles use dailymed as a reference so you can check existing dailymed reference to find the brand names and add it as a reference.

Italian

Add {{portale|medicina}} at the end of your translation. You can do this after you publish the translation. Go to the published page > edit > source editing and add this at the bottom of the source text.

Make sure you use the correct terminology and translate the titles correctly, because pages that do not meet these quality standards will be deleted.

If there are a lot of red links in your published Italian article, you need to be cautious.

These links are red due to translation errors in the English links. Even though not all English pages are available in Italian, looking at the languages listed on the English page of each link will tell you if Italian is available and, if so, what the correct title is. Make sure you add the correct links. Don't leave everything in red because that shows you did not evaluate the final work.

During the translation process, you may need to consult glossaries and terminology databases. For European Portuguese, IATE is a reliable resource, while WordReference can be useful for Brazilian Portuguese.

In general, websites such as the MSD Manual and CID-11 are also valuable reference tools. These resources are particularly helpful because they allow you to switch the page language between English and Portuguese, making it easier to identify accurate term equivalents.

Portal Templates

Please, when translating medical articles, make sure to add {{Portal3|Saúde}} at the end of your translation. When translating chemical medical components (drugs, medications, vaccines), please make sure to add {{Portal3|Farmácia}} at the end of your translation.

Dates

Dates do not usually propagate correctly. To fix this issue, click on the reference twice and update the date format from English to Portuguese. Make sure the date is written in the format DD-MM-YY. For example, January 12, 2026 should be written as 12-01-2026.

Turkish

During the translation process, you may need to consult glossaries and terminology databases. For Turkish, you can use Tureng, CID-11, and the Türkçe Tıp Dili Kılavuzu as reference tools.

Dagbani

In addition to adhering to the WPM policy and guidelines, you can also align your translations with the Dagbani orthography (https://www.adrummerstestament.com/Dagbani_Spelling_and_Pronunciation.pdf) to meet writing requirements.

Currently, the community does not have a standardised repository of medical terms for reference.

However, translators can contact the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group or the WikiMed Africa team for further assistance with technical terms. The WikiMed Africa team includes Dagbani editors.
