Silly Putty

Silly Putty was invented in Connecticut, but it was invented by accident! During WWII, there was a rubber shortage. Scientists were looking to create synthetic rubber, and one of their failed experiments was silly putty. Silly putty quickly became a popular toy that could stretch, bounce, and snap when pulled apart quickly!
