Organizing a Paragraph

Performance Objective:

By the end of the lesson, having guidance, learners will be able to organize their ideas coherently by organizing three different paragraphs logically. 100% of accuracy is expected.

Paper/pencil

Time:

120-minute lesson.

Step 1: Pre-Instructional Activities

Gain Attention: Ask the learners what they know about a paragraph. Take a note of their answers on the board.

Build Motivation: Tell them that organizing ideas is a great practice to develop writing also public speaking.

Step 2: Content Presentation

Present the material to the students, explaining three parts of a paragraph with an example. See the presentation below.

Step 3: Learner Participation

At this step, students watch to have an extra explanation about how to organize a paragraph. To practice, learners may write their own paragraph choosing one of the topics listed on slide 4 of the presentation.

Step 4: Assessment

To assess performance, students will organize 3 paragraphs. Click on the picture to access the worksheet.

Step 5: Follow-Through Activities

Learners will try to speak about what they have written the next class.
